The money will come, it’s just deferred until 2045.

No one bothered to hold them accountable to their promise since then?

For all the money they are paying Kyle Fucker they should get him to rebuild California

I love that everyone came in here with the same joke.

It’s probably a multi year pledge with a determined payout structure
That’s how pledges work

It only makes sense to fund projects that are ready to receive those funds and put those funds to use. They pledged to provide money, they didn’t pledge to manage the rebuilding projects directly or to ensure their efficiency. Someone else is dropping the ball somewhere.

What you mean? Dodgers got the relief fund by getting Edwin Diaz.

Reading the article it sounds like they just threw out a number for the good press without doing any research and now they’re seeing it’s actually quite hard to do your own means testing to divvy up donations.

I pledge a billion to the relief fund.

Completely unbiased opinion here but it could be that the Dodgers are part of the Axis of Evil.
The Dodgers screwed California out of more than $100M in taxes thanks to deferred payments, so donating $100M is the least they could do
Probably because Newsom will mismanage the funds and it won’t go to wildfire relief
