My understanding is the name Dodgers came from ‘Trolley Dodgers’. So I would guess this was a depiction of what someone imagined a person from Brooklyn who dodged trolleys 🚎 looked like in Brooklyn back in the day.
When I told my Dad that Dodgers referred to trolleys, he said that they should have been the ones to move to San Francisco.

It looks like a « Dem Bums » caricature from the Brooklyn Dodger days.
They had just moved to LA in 1957.
No idea on the caricature but that George Anderson is Sparky Anderson when he was a ball player still.
