I’ve also suspected for years that OOTP and MLB the Show as a condition of the license have made the financials more dire than they actually are to make the armchair GM sympathize with the owners
Remember, owning a baseball franchise is apparently not actually very profitable. They just do it for the love of the game
If these owners are so poor they can very easily pull the parachute and sell for a 2,000% ROI, it’s the easiest financial decision if you’re destitute.
The amount of rubes who bought into the propaganda that these owners are losing money on their teams is scary.
My guess is the owners have 0 intention of opening their books this time around, but is there a chance that happens? Does the MLBPA want to push for that?
