New nickname unlocked.
From Joel Sherman as well:
Marcus Semien, one of 8 members of the MLBPA subcommittee, said it was his understanding that Clark was resigning to deal with the ongoing federal investigation by the Eastern District of New York over use of licensing money.
Semien said he heard the news this morning and was unsure if/when an interim would be named and if Bruce Meyer would continue as the MLBPA’s lead negotiator. He said timing is tough with CBA expiring 12/1, but better now than even later
Everyone knows there will be a lockout. The question is will it be worse than the last one. Anyone who says definitely yes or definitely no is lying.
Well, yeah, we’re going to lose the 2027 season. We all know this and we all know it’s the d*dg*rs’ fault.
People use the word out lockout and missing the entire season to be synonymous but in reality it could be like the 2021 lockout where 0 games were missed.
This situation truly could not have happened at a worse time for the players
Fairbanks is always good for a quotable quote lol
I’m definitely going to make it to PNC for atleast a handful of games this year just incase. I always have fun at that ballpark anyway, but since we actually have a legitimate team and a possibility of a shortened season in 2027 will make it even better
I cannot wait for the Mike Trout drawings
This would be the 3rd lockout/strike Manfred is a part of.
I think tough reality for both the players and the owners is that RSNs are collapsing and old cable TV deals are gone. TV deals alone are about half of league revenues.
Other forms of revenue are essentially maxed out already. MLB has a lot of extremely cash-poor owners, and league-wide revenues look like they will shrink in real terms.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see salaries shrink league-wide and team valuations shrink as all the old RSN deals fold.
A lockout? Classic turd in the punch bowl gag.
It is imperative for the health of the sport to avoid a lock out this season. Baseball is on an upward trajectory. Players and owners need to get their shit together because though any kind of lock out is always bad, the timing atm is fucking horrible.
thanks dodgers
i get it, i’m worried too, any updates?
