(Crizer) Les Marlins vont demander aux entraîneurs d’appeler chaque lancer de 2026 depuis l’abri. Les Giants, les Rockies et d’autres pourraient bientôt les rejoindre.

Also what are they thinking pitchers are throwers not pitchers anymore?
Greg Maddux would never.
kneevase
Well, that makes the short-list for potential catchers a bit easier:
1) Good receiver who can frame well;
2) Can throw out runners;
3) Has a bit of a bat;
~~4) Handles pitchers well and calls a good game.~~

Hate it

Pitcher and the catcher communicating is extremely cool. I get that catchers are mostly calling from the same scouting reports the coaches are anyway, but I find this somewhat lame. Ban pitchcom in the dugout.
Seven19td
That’s bullshit. My nephew pitches for 14U and his coach calls the pitches too. It sucks.So will the pitcher be allowed to shake the coach off?
Jacoblaue
May as well not have a catcher at this point
Irrah
Might as well just have the catcher just take a smoke break when bases are empty then with the automated strike system too.
Ryuujin_13
Greg Maddux coming out of retirement just to show them what a terrible idea this is.
NewCoffeePlus
There needs to be less club and coach involvement of on field play, not more
AerieElectrical3546
catchers have the best perspective possible on how a batter’s timing is, whether he’s swinging over or under it, etc.
let them call the game!
infinityislikehuge
so they’re in little league again?
Educational-Chef-595
This seems like a bad idea but since none of them are my team, I’ll allow it.
FrankGibsonIV
Absolutely lame.
Famous-Flow2333
Ridiculous. Are they going to have scouting reports to look at during the at bat too?
breakfast_cats
This should be against the rules. Players play the game, not coaches
stoneyzepplin
I was wondering how long it would take for coaches to realize they could just use pitch-com from the dugout.
BlueRFR3100
I would have loved to see who might have the courage to suggest this to Yadi.
Hosko817
lame

Roger Craig used to call pitches from the dugout when he was managing the Giants way back in the 80s. I don’t think it was even close to all of them, though.

Notice how it’s all bad teams doing this
UpbeatAd1839
Dumb as fuck
UneducatedReviews1
Might as well let an AI do it. Such a stupid decision.
matlai17
Will pitchers look straight into the dugout to shake off the pitch call?
Doc_JC
Why is pitchcom even allowed in the dugout? This seems like an awful idea.

I hate that.
How is that speeding up the game?
