some 19th century guy with a name like Horatio “Fisticuffs Pete” Thistlecock, probably.

Ernie Banks, Ron Santo or Luke Appling.

All time it is easily Ernie Banks. But he played most of his career when the “postseason” was just the World Series which really limited opportunities.

If you narrow it to guys who played most/all of their career after 1969 when the postseason started to expand into an actual tournament, I would say it’s Fergie Jenkins or Buddy Bell. Felix Hernandez is probably the best from this century to never make it.

Unrelated, but I just realized Ernie Banks kind of looks like Kobe

Mike Trout is so close to being the obvious choice here. Damn those pesky 3 playoff games.

At first glance that looked like Micheal Jordan.

Which would be a good answer if you specified mlb postseason. Yet still left « player » vague.

  7. “King” Félix Hernández comes to mind to me without Google

I don’t recall Felix Hernandez ever playing in the postseason.

I thought that was Michael Jordan for a sec

Cubs honestly do have 3 contenders here with Ernie, Fergie, and Ronny
