I was a very big piece of the process of them losing that world series run, so for that, I am very sorry Alek.

He’s listed at 6-6, 285 pounds, so he is *technically* a big piece to their run…well, that is if he actually contributed literally anything last year besides 10 starts in the minors

There’s a big piece of something missing in your skull Alek.

Why do people always take the worst possible interpretation of everything this guy says?
He’s clearly talking about the years leading up to 2025, not the WS run itself.
MarlKarx777
There is a universe where he maintains his Cy Young finalist performance, and is a big piece of a World Series run.
Unfortunately we do not live in that universe

« Getting to that World Series run » is doing a ton of heavy lifting there, but I suppose you can argue he has a point. It’s less damning than the other quote out of context made it sound: he obviously wasn’t important to them in 2025, but he was important to them in…2023 or whatever that year was when he was good. And he was a piece of them becoming playoff contenders finally, even if they never won any playoff games until last year when they almost won all of them.

I don’t necessarily agree but I see what he means, anytime you have a starter put up the season he did that’s something you usually can build around. If he doesn’t have that then the moves the blue jays make that lead them to the WS over the past 3 years might look different/never happen
Maybe they don’t sign bassitt, or trade for varsho etc
Antique-Guest-1607
seems like a reasonable thing to say but we’ve decided we don’t like Manoah so I’m going to make a joke about him being fat and then take the least charitable reading possible.

This guy fucking sucks

I don’t understand this comment.

Clicked on this thread just to see how many people would make the super obvious joke lol
Craft_Bandicoot
Sounds like he’s taking the long view in years leading up not talking about the run itself. Clearly trying to understand his place in this, and it must be frustrating to fall off a cliff.
gpes3280
Still not doing him any favours considering he’s been a non factor with the jays since like 2023 lol
johnjohnjohn93
Honestly totally get where he’s coming from. He was apart of the Jays rebuild and was at once a key piece.
A little different since he aged out but if the Yankees win this year I’m sure DJ will feel a little sad about not winning with the Judge-Stanton-Cole core he was apart of for so many years.
