What about per AB instead of PA? I would imagine Bonds skyrockets past Gallo in that situation when BBs are accounted for.

A much better way to look at the validity of this metric is to make it per 600 at bats instead of plate appearances.

Fun analysis. I was curious about my guy Cal Raleigh, he’s just shy of the minimum at 2465 PA. If I’ve done my math right, it works out to 37.24, which puts him just behind Stanton. If I add 45 PAs with no home runs to get to 2500, it’s 36.72, still in the top 10. Not too shabby.
