I mean, last season was a collective team wide pants shitting lmao. I don’t really see how being vocal in meetings or being on a different warmup schedule would lead to the sudden departure of a long term team player… but since I obviously wasn’t there, I get what he means about those little things potentially festering.

  3. Being a vocal leader on a winning team is great. Being a vocal leader on a high expectations team that let the best record in baseball evaporate with long losing streaks in August and September is not so great. Nothing against Nimmo in particular. He was great for us for years. I wish he was a lifetime Mets. Just pointing out that when teams lose their season in an ugly drawn out way, feelings in the locker room are going to be hurt and the higher ups are going to want consequences. You can only run it back so many times before changes need to be made.

Also, from a cold clinical baseball standpoint, [Nimmo has been playing with a hurt foot that affects his fielding range and base running speed for a long time](https://www.mlb.com/news/brandon-nimmo-addresses-foot-injury-in-spring-training). He’s entering his mid 30’s. I’m sure he felt blindsided in the moment, but it’s not like there were no baseball reasons to make this trade.

  4. Mets just buy whoever the most expensive free agent is now its pretty simple.
