yikes those are some rough numbers for spring training
Pal__Pacino
Oh that’s Gore of my comfort character…
RememberTheTitans200
Spring training surface numbers don’t matter
beefytrout
today shouldn’t count, the league was using juiced balls all across spring training
Odd_Instruction2942
Definitely looking rough, but for all we know he’s spending spring training working on a specific pitch, or maybe a slight mechanics change? Without any context, hard to tell if this is that worrying.
Mr_Evil_Dr_Porkchop
Eh it’s not really that relevant… It’s ST… they are just trying some new things and working at getting into shape
thefuturegov
Is that good?
ProudInfluence3770
How do the advanced stats look? He’s probably working on something specific. If not then Thats trouble
TheChrisLambert
Doesn’t matter. It’s spring training for a pitcher. It’s the least relevant thing in the entire world.

Lmao someone thought this was really worth posting
I’m sure everyone in spring training is going to replicate their numbers in the regular season

I am (and was) simultaneously very happy that we sold on Gore when we did (prepared to eat crow on this of course) and I think that a poor ST is indicative of essentially nothing.
He’s getting used to working with new guys, they likely have him working on stuff he doesn’t normally work on, and no one is fully dialed in.
Gore’s problem in the regular season is that he’s usually an incredible pitcher the first three to four months and a painfully average to bad one the last two. A poor ST doesn’t match that trend, so unless he lost his talent overnight, I wouldn’t read into it much.

About as relevant as a pitcher going 6 innings of shutout ball with 12 Ks against the AA camp invites

He can’t be doing his job like that
