  1. Guardians got a good one. How else can one show how much they care?

Manager Dave Nilsson, holding back his frustration, reflected after the game:

“Playing on an international stage like this is something we should be satisfied with, but at the same time, this tournament showed us that we still have a lot of room to grow. Following our program, we must continue working to further improve our international competitiveness. As a manager, I will continue to believe in my players. We lost, and a loss is a loss no matter what I say. The fact that we were eliminated from the tournament will never change.”

Their next goal is the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

  3. Bazzana’s dealt with some injuries last year but super excited to see him develop still!

  4. They’re too good for a country that doesn’t care about baseball. Hopefully this run helps Australia get interested

So proud of them no matter the result. Almost knocked off the champs. Played against the GOAT and made him look human for a minute. They’ll learn from this and come back hungrier.

If any Australian fans need something to be positive about, a 16 year old female Australian figure skater named Hana Bath won a silver medal at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships held in Estonia over last weekend. It was Australia’s first ever medal at a major international figure skating competition. She skated her FP very well!

It absolutely sucks that there is no room for them in the next round, since they have absolutely shown they are dangerous within that group.

Hopefully not a flash in the pan and maybe with Taiwan, Australia, and perhaps Canada on the outside looking in clearly it would be possible to expand the knockout round.

Proud of our boys. Can’t wait to see what Bazzana does. If he fulfils his potential that could be a game changer for the sport here. We’ve had some decent pitchers play MLB but never a truly elite position player.
