Is it possible they were concerned about the video contributing to confusion?

  3. TomatilloLower4932

Dude needs to be shit canned regardless after the WBC

  4. can we get a mlb manager for this please ik they would have spring training obligations but try to make it work because this dude cannot be the manager

Hiring a former player instead of a single demonstrably intelligent person is always a choice.

    And yet…

The cover up is always worse than the crime., They just made this a much bigger story.

DR vs Venezuela on Tubi … for Baseball fans!

What is with the USA and hiring tv personalities to do a job that they end up failing at?

  9. MLB Network and MLB Radio are both absolute embarrassments, and hiring a manager based on his employment there has yielded absolutely predictable results

  10. I can’t decide if this is more embarrassing for DeRosa or MLB in this supposedly impartial tournament.

  11. « DeRosa, » we sure he’s not a double agent?

    Managers don’t matter.

DeRosa didn’t give up 8 runs or strikeout with RISP

Italy’s manager didn’t do anything outstanding. He just got lucky a guy who’s gonna have an ERA over 6 on the Rockies had the one good game of his career

I’ve said it since day 1. Why the fuck is he manager AGAIN?!? Managing is something you need to do regularly. You need the reps to be decent. It’s not something you turn off and on every few years. I coached for 13 years. I stopped about a year ago. If I was asked to get in the dug out and run a team for a weekend I would definitely be rusty. You have to get into the coaching mindset. Watching every pitch, inning by inning adjustments. Being ready for every situation that might come your way. DeRosa is perfect if this was the Rock n Jock game. But not for a competitive tournament on the biggest stage. Bone head decision.

Glancing at the standings on the very day another 3-way tie just happened and was hotly discussed should have told anyone a 3-way tie at the top was still easily possible. Fire this man and have Ebel coach the rest of the tourney, if the US is fortunate enough to continue.

  15. Gosh I just can’t think of a precedent for america putting a tv host in charge and then finding out he’s an idiot, and then doing it a second time

  16. Jackson483

Yeah DeRosa deserves a lot of blame, but there are like 6 other coaches also on the staff and 20 something players. Not a single one of them knew the rules either? How was a single coach or player not aware of the rules?

  17. Logical-Marketing975

Are the media gonna ask any of the players wtf they were thinking or are they too gonna pretend it never happened?

  18. mastersplinteremover

Of all the possible baseball people wit management experience and even current players who are likely decent at management, why the hell did DeRosa get the job?

  19. There are OOTP streamers more competent than him.

  20. RentalGore

It’s almost as if hiring tv personalities to do serious jobs is a bad idea.

  21. It completely makes sense to me that he and the rest of the team didn’t realize that this game mattered with the decisions of who was playing and the pitching decisions that were made. I just can’t figure out how not one single player or anyone else in the clubhouse realized he was wrong. But all decisions that you see from that game show that DeRosa didn’t know. It is absolutely crazy if they end up not making it and this is why. Not saying the Team USA B, I mean, Team Italy, wouldn’t have one if they actually knew but what a crazy way to go out.

Just #1 tough guy big badass American stuff oohrah 💪🇺🇸

He goofed, but these managers are honorary/largely figureheads. Suddenly we’re acting like Pujols has three rings as a manager.
