How about once you get your AARP card you get sent to a ballpark upstate

63 years old. Everyone’s eyesight deteriorates eventually. Retire.

Where’s that umpire? He was trying to Buck on me!

This dude’s body language was absolutely hilarious after a few of his calls were overturned (and not even close). Feels so good to finally be able to put these egotistical shitheads in their place.

Also love being able to reward the umps that do a good job. They deserve their flowers when they make the right call, and it’s confirmed by a challenge.

    ABS rocks.

It’s insane that we expect a human being to able to locate the exact position of a ball traveling 90 mph with vertical or horizontal break. And old guys too lol

  7. I’m surprised the umpires union agreed to ABS. Maybe their thinking was « We’ll agree to ABS and show them just how good we are! »

When and where is he next behind the plate?

He’s my early pick for « Most ABS overturns » this season

Only 20? Good to see he’s really committed himself to improving.

Who was the manager who had to like apologize to CB publicly and apparently he went way over the line? Whoever that manager was, he’s certainly laughing today.

I assumed that we were just going to ease into the ABS system and maybe let it take over in a few years. But with the attention it’s already gotten just a few games in, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it take over much sooner. I’m not faulting the umps, the human eye just isn’t as good as ABS. And now that we can see if the ump was right on every single pitch, and know there’s a system in place to overturn the pitches called incorrectly, it just seems like there’s no way to avoid a full ABS takeover.

I watched the Reds game that he was behind the plate. As the game went on you could see that he didn’t like getting so many requests for review.

There’s somehow all these contrarians coming out and writing posts saying « umpires don’t like to be embarrassed » and similar takes. If you don’t want to be embarrassed, be better at your job! This video shows there were so many calls far out of the zone called strikes. Bucknor is lucky he only got just 6 overturned when it should have been many more.
