Grown men (especially top tier athletes who were top shit in sports since childhood) should be required to step up to the plate and swing the bat.
Poor Brandon Belt was probably looking on with dismay wondering how a pitcher could do what he couldn’t. For context, here’s a number from Belt in his 67 PAs against Kershaw. .215. That is not his AVG, his OBP, nor his SLG. That’s his OPS against Kershaw.
Personally, Im good with the universal DH. I know some people dont like it, but the game has evolved. I will say, I miss pitcher homeruns. Slamarena is one of the coolest moments in Padres history.
