Bo Bichette clearly has potential but he’s a terrible defensive shortstop… if you can move him to the outfield or maybe 2B but he has very little value at a priority defensive position. Vlad was terrible as a 3B but at 1B he’s probably mediocre at best or he can obviously DH eventually so he has more value in my opinion.

Sounds about right. Keep pretending that it’s not owner, management and coaching that’s the problem. Bichette is pretty clearly leaving in free agency, so I get trading him, at least.

I can’t believe I’d ever say this, but I think I’m fully good with trading these guys. The only problem I see if I don’t think we’d get proper value from the trade with them currently playing so poorly.
This team had so much potential…in 2021, then was picked to win the AL in 2022, then was picked to get the wild card in 2023….and now they are projected to finish last in the East. I have been watching for over 30 years and the failure of this team and this management might be the end of me watching this team. haha.
They both have at least another year of control left. Trading them now, with having either middling or outright bad performances, is beyond stupid. This article is baseless bait.

I don’t know why people get so surprised when information like this “leaks.” The GM should be constantly looking to improve the team and gauging the market on their players. Having conversations about what the market is for their players does not mean that a trade is imminent. It would be worse if they weren’t talking to other teams. There are so few untouchable players in the league, that virtually every player has been talked about in some manner with other teams.

These guys plus Kiermaier are my favorite non-Rays in our division, don’t think I have a #4. All high quality, but Vlad and KK have their best days behind them. If Bichette batted lefty, I’d trade the farm for him. But he doesn’t, so I hope he lands in another division and has a great career.
