Wow, losing your PoBO at the beginning of February. Rough.

    THANK GOD. GET HIM OUT.

Unfortunately Pohlads are still in charge so i expect the worst coming forward. Always lovely too that they waited until the end of the offseason. Just not helpful.

Falvey had made comments about the fact that the Twins used the original fangraphs projections of 82 wins as a way of convincing ownership not to tear things down

I would imagine a teardown is inevitable now

HOWEVER Falvey assumed business control last season rather than just baseball. Could be the issue there as revenue, gate receipts and season ticket renewals all bombed over the last 2 years.

My issue is this: we fired Baldelli and brought in the new regime picked by Falvey. Signed players that Falvey wanted. And now its a waste of everything. Should have happened months ago

Edit: Zoll is running the baseball ops, Tom Pohlad the business side. That screams that it was an issue on the business side. Nothing will change as Zoll was number 2

Always smart to fire the POBO right before the season starts

Twins confirm Tom Homan will be stepping in to take over baseball operations. Homan has directed players not to interact with « agitators. »

Genuinely no idea what’s going on, he was recently promoted. He mentioned ownership changes as a reason. Maybe Tom Pohlad doesn’t like him? Really really excited to hear Gleeman and the Geek talk about this. I don’t know whether this will lead to a full scale rebuild or what

Shouldn’t this have been done in September? It’s like firing a manager in March. Twins aren’t in free agency and have made near zero moves.

This feels like maybe there is another shoe to drop and they’re trying to get in front of some sort of bad press

Now’s your time, Twins fans. Submit your applications, don’t let dreams be dreams.

This is so baffling. Why do this now?

I’m wondering if this has more to do with the business side than the baseball side; Falvey was promoted to the head of business operations in addition to baseball operations last year when the Pohlads were still planning on selling the team. Now that Joe Pohlad got ousted in favor of his brother, I’m guessing Tom Pohlad wants to tear down that part of the operation and start over.

  13. Pohlad’s statement says something along the lines of moving in a new direction. Could be a complete teardown, could actually be a new approach. Either way the timing is stupid

  14. The timing makes me wonder if there’s a scandal involving him about to break. Because I can’t see any other reason why they’re doing it now.

Don you usually do these kind of moves like before the winter meetings not just a few weeks out from spring training
