Full interview translated courtesy of @Masterflip_ on Twitter:

« That’s straight up bullshit, and I don’t care who’s listening. I’m speaking for my country here. I’m talking about the hunger I felt to compete with my country’s name on my chest. That’s the dream every kid grows up chasing. And the way they did me wrong? It’s pure BS.

Like you said, I sacrificed myself last year in that whole situation. If I’d appealed the suspension, it could’ve jumped from 80 games to the full 162, and I would’ve missed the WBC entirely. They basically told me my career could go down the drain if I fought it. So I took the hit.

Now they’re pulling this crap? It’s bullshit! Look at Team USA’s roster and how many guys were on the IL? Or Team Japan? There’s no real excuse for it. I don’t care how they take this, I’m saying it straight from the heart because it hurts. It hurts for my country, and it hurts not being out there with my teammates. With all the balls I have, I’ll say it plain, this insurance nonsense is bullshit! »

He’s not wrong. Byron Buxton being on the USA roster proves his point
