For one and a half innings, Australia dared to dream.
Then a guy with his pants around his ears took that dream away.

What a rollercoaster of a game

Yoshida hasn’t taken off in the states like he wanted but dude was on his way to the hall of fame if he stayed in NPB. Among Japan all stars he’s a star.
Maybe this year he’ll finally break out stateside but for now it’s fun to watch him mash

Australia put up a hell of a fight. my husband missed the first two Japan games and wanted to see how dominating they were and coming out of this game he’s like “they were sloppy” lol

For a country in Australia where Baseball is not that popular, they really put up a fight against Japan which is a well-known Baseball nation alright. Australia may be Japan’s toughest opponent in this 1st round so far with the score being a 1 run differential in this game, and Australia would’ve won the game if it weren’t for that botched double play.

A pretty underwhelming performance by Japan. But a win is a win.

Our pitching and lousy base running/defence is definitely going to cost us in later stages. Please lock in.

Maki only gets spanked a little bit.

So why did the broadcast say they couldn’t show the emperor according to the rules?
Does the WBC/network have a rule against showing political figures in general or is this a Japan cultural rule?
