    2024 – 91.7

    2025 90.3

    2026 – 88.8

What happened to him? He didn’t have any major injuries or anything and he’s not even 31 yet. I know he was falling off last year but this still seems weird. Undiagnosed health issue or mechanical problem?

Ober averaged 90.3 mph on his FB last year, maxing out at 92.8 mph according to Baseball Savant. So not like he’s a flamethrower or anything.

Down 1.5 mph is concerning, but it’s only his second start of spring.

Close enough, welcome back Mark Buehrle

This guys absolutely massive I’ve always wondered why he wasn’t pumping high 90s

Remember when 89 was like, what most starters threw? Times have changed.

When it comes to throwing 90mph, he’s Barely Over

I’ll never understand how you can be like 8 feet tall and top out at 90

Well…. Is his location and break good at least?

Some of these comments are hilarious, like throwing 98 is only a matter of work ethic and technique.

Throwing a baseball over 90mph is extreme and demanding.

Dudes about to be serving up absolute meatballs come the regular season if this velocity trend continues

That is not good. Damn shame because he’s been so reliable. But, given the Twins don’t have many other experienced option to rely on in the rotation, he’ll get the opportunity to show he can adjust.

Joe Ryan will have to pitch 450 innings for this team to finish above .500
