Been watching some Japanese coverage leading up to this which includes:
-Japanese fielder (can’t remember who) joking/not really joking that he was concerned he wouldn’t be able to hear anything during the game due to fans’ music and will have to rely on his eyes only lmao
-running joke where Shohei told the press he draws power from touching the signed bat he has from Miggy Cabrera, Cabrera saying something like he won’t touch any more of Shohei’s bats so he can’t have his power, culminating in Shohei running up to Miggy at BP today and rubbing his bat on him
-Munenori Kawasaki doing an analysis on Japanese TV of Ranger Suarez’s pitch mix, resulting in such gems as: « So how should Team Japan try and hit the change-ups? » « Just don’t. » And: « …What was I saying again? Oh yeah–*Yamato-damashii*! »
