Should be incredibly proud, Italy was such a good and fun team and I hope this helps boost the Italian baseball seen even further.

Perfectly at peace knowing the better team won and he still fucking nailed the assignment

But he wants to openly celebrate sooooo badly.

It’s crazy how visible the sadness and also the pride are in his face at the same time. truly a fantastic run for Italy.

    Un torneo memorabile, ad maiora.
    Grazie coach!

He looks happy to me—both happy his team did well and happy for Venezuela where he was born and raised. He lost but also won.

You’d be lying to yourself if you thought Italy would get out of pool play let alone reach the WBC semifinal. Remarkable run by Cervelli and Italy. He should be proud.

Considering he’s Venezuelan, it was a win-win situation.

This was the same dude who did the “calma” celebration when we tied the game ffs

I gotta say hats off to Italy I don’t think anyone thought they would make it as far as they did they did they played great all tournament and should be proud of that

He looks so proud 😭😭😭 I could cry.

Italy was my fav story of the WBC this year, easy. I’m excited for Venezuela-USA, but MAN what a world it would have been if Italy managed to win the whole thing. I want nothing but the very best for Cervelli and Italy and Italian baseball. I hope they continue to grow and get better and better & find themselves as real contenders every time the tournament comes around.

He’s more bummed about not having the espresso machine in the dugout anymore

He was a tactician out there. He got the most out of his young/minor league players. I was thoroughly impressed. I’m not sure what the future holds for him, but you’d have to think any open managerial positions in the MLB would consider him.

The look of someone who’s accepted his fate but is proud of his accomplishments, nonetheless. 🫡

The magic started to run out at the end of that PR game, but they were still putting together some great ABs all night tonight. Venezuela just pitched great to get out of those jams, otherwise we may have been looking at an 8-4 Italian victory again.

Both teams played baseball the best way tonight. Loved that rally Venezuela had with the hit-and-run with two outs. You don’t see that stuff enough in MLB.
