Its funny how every fool on Twitter calls the last pitch « perfect » because even if it been swung at it is a groundball out and I’m like. That’s the fucking point you idiot, its a ball that’s why perdomo did not swing. Because the pitch was like 4 inches below the zone lmao.

I did feel bad for a second but DR played dirty that game so idc anymore tbh

  3. I dunno man, those side views show the ball going just below his knees. It’s a bit low, yes, but I don’t think it’s anywhere near as egregious as the box on the screen (which does NOT represent the strike zone) made it look. Also, Will Smith is an elite framer.

That call ruined the wbc for me

And I say that as someone who would’ve been satisfied with a looking K that was actually in the zone

That last pitch definetly ended up a ball, but it was looking like a strike for a really long time before late movement dropped it down.  Ump just missed it.  Sucks that it was the last pitch and all that we’re focused on after a great game.

i dont think it was the worst ball called a strike we/ve ever seen by anymeans, the ump has the behind view not all these different angles. im assuming he saw it just before it dipped out called a strike

I don’t really care because I’m a Team USA fan and I’m happy to survive and advance over a really really good DR team. It was a bad call and a wet fart of a way to end a great game.

I would be equally as mad if my team was on the other side of the call.

My concern now is that with the bad call Team USA is in a « ball don’t lie » situation. The baseball gods will get their revenge in the WBC Final. I’m not looking forward to that.

You need the challenge system ASAP . Unacceptable variance for a serious sport.

  9. Holy fuck what happened to the rhetoric? Night of it seemed pretty agreed on that that call was egregious. Now everyone is saying it was a close call and not the worst call?

    Come on now

The game ending pitch was obviously low, but I can give the ump a break on some of those fastballs that are at the bottom of the zone.  The bottom of the zone is a variable space from batter to batter and it’s somewhat vaguely defined as « the hollow of the batter’s kneecap. »  So if the ump’s definition of the bottom of the zone is different from the TV line by a millimeter it’s a little unreasonable to call them terrible.  The TV line itself may not be exact.  My understanding is that it uses some combination of automatic detection of the batter’s kneecap plus manual operator adjustment.  I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t take it as an objective truth.

ABS should solve this issue more consistently because it uses verified height data and a consistent percent of the batter’s height.

When I am an evil dictator I’m banning these vertical, « look at me on the bottom » reaction videos.

I will immediately downvote any jomboy anything on any platform for eternity. Guy is a mega douchebag with no ethics or empathy.

Could of been a great game left a bad taste in mouth with that being the ending.
