Honestly, I kind of love how teams lean into these goofy promos free pizza is such a random but very baseball thing to rally around. Half the time people remember the giveaway more than the actual game, especially during a long season.
Feels like the Tigers are just trying to give fans *something* fun while rebuilding. If it gets people in the seats (or at least paying attention), it’s doing its job. Anyone actually ever cash in on one of those deals?

I feel like I have seen a home run dribble across where the larger hole now is, so it’s theoretically possible I guess.

If I’m not mistaken, prior to the ’26 season if a Tigers player hit a HR and it went in, the entire state of Michigan got a free pizza. Now, that hole is 3x as wide and if one goes in, Detroit residents get a free pizza. I’ve only seen it done by an opposing team once over the last few years.

My local AAA team has a taco man each home game, and if he strikes out during the game everyone can redeem their ticket stub at any local Taco Bell to get a free beef taco.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually cashed it in when Taco Man strikes out, but boy is it fun in the stadium when whoever it is for the game comes up to the plate each time haha.

The “whole” on Caeser’s mitt. Attention to detail: check!

We make it easy in Texas. You get a free taco at Taco Bueno if the Rangers just score a run. But really you can just ask do your free Rangers taco and nobody will actually check to see if there was even a game.
You can also get $10 off at On the Border if they win, a free McDonald’s McDouble if the team turns a double play, and there’s usually an inning-specific promo for Chick Fil A or Pluckers.
The Papa John’s 1/2 price pizza deal is back, if they score 6 or 7 runs.
