One of these times someone’s gonna be so confident it’s actually ball four that they start taking their batting guards off and walking to first just for it to be confirmed strike 3 and it’s gonna be the funniest thing.

it did rise so it might have been a strike on the front edge but not by the middle…..where is the ABS measuring again?
ETA: The MLB Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) system measures pitch location
at the **middle of home plate** (8.5 inches deep), not the front edge. It defines the strike zone as a 2D plane 17 inches wide, with vertical limits set at 27% (bottom) to 53.5% (top) of a player’s measured height, ignoring stance.
Key aspects of the ABS measurement system:
* **Location:** The system measures if the ball passes through the strike zone at the midpoint of the 17-inch plate. * **Dimensions:** It is a 2D rectangle (17 inches wide) rather than a 3D box, aimed at creating consistent calls.

The “fuck you, I’m heading to first” challenge is hilarious but I need to see the pitcher and catcher challenge a 2 out 2 strike pitch that was called a ball and be in the dugout for the ABS result.

This dude’s entire at bat was atrocious lol. What was that bunt attempt?

I love this. Before these ABS challenges you’ll just have Shwarber yelling at the ump and probably getting tossed with the ump making it all about themselves. Now it puts them on blast for all to see for making such atrocious calls

Schwarber is one of the guys I was curious to see with the challenge system. Back when he was with the Cubs, it felt like he got rung up on a bunch of bad calls.

The days of the umpire massively expanding the zone on a 3-0 count are over. It’s amazing.

That « Hey put it back on Kyle » right as ABS was showing it was a ball made me chuckle

These pimp walks to first base are such an entertaining dynamics shift.

I love how absolutely confident the batters are in making these challenges lol

So like, what a huge win for MLB with how entertaining these challenges are. The tapping the helmet thing makes it all the better.
