Is that why they couldn’t beat the New York B team?

    > “A couple things we were able to keep from you guys, which was great,” Vitello said…

By saying that, you’ve no longer kept them from us. Nobody should fucking volunteer info like this to the press, especially the manager.

  3. TheNotoriousJN

I honestly dont think Vitello makes it through the season.

    Dude just cant shut up

I’ll take « Things You Should Keep Quiet About » for $200, Alex

  5. YodaForceGhost

I feel like this is similar to when Barry Switzer coached the Cowboys. Like it doesn’t seem like he has the ability to manage men compared to frat bro kids

  6. GetBent009

Does he know he can just not say what’s on his mind?

  7. respaaaaaj

Man if something is bad enough that you’re trying to hide it from the press why the fuck are you talking about it at all?

Look there are things that happen in clubhouses that look terrible from the outside but are salvageable if kept below the radar and handled well. And it sounds like they were on their way to doing just that until this freaking guy opened his foot holster.

  8. Bright-Pressure-5787

I don’t think that’s something you let the public know, but I’m just a guy commenting on Reddit, so what do I know?

  9. ActualDragonHeart

The adventures of Tony Vitello and Tony Vitello’s Mouth continue to be incredibly entertaining

  10. I mean I’m not to shocked that this is turning out to be a bad hire. I am shocked that problems started immediately I thought it would take longer then 2 weeks into the season

  11. Could be worse. Your entire clubhouse could have the flu.

  12. RichAbbreviations966

Vitello is gonna get shit from college managers as the main reason why they wont get MLB jobs

  13. Pockets408

I usually appreciate the transparency with athletes and managers but this is definitely something that should’ve stayed behind closed doors.

They’re fighting over who gets to be Arraez’ best friend

    SCENE: August 2026

« We haven’t had any players play while intoxicated in over a month »

    « Tony, you what? »

  16. Zestyclose_Help1187

I don’t know how many decisions this guy is making. He might be just a frontman for the real guy calling every play, Posey.

  17. Hey remember all the times it was mentioned that college managers don’t get directly promoted to Major League Baseball?

  18. SFGate is sensationalist trash. The « incidents » are clearly normal shit when you read about the known ones. He’s not saying there is some sort of clubhouse fight going on without us knowing.

  19. ToasterzMakeToast

sounds to me like he’s just trying to say the team knows they’re underperforming, that they care, and they’re holding each other accountable. he really needs a PR coach to help him phrase things better so the media cant twist his words like this tho

  20. TylerGlasass20

I do wonder if he regrets moving up from college

  21. This either ends with a mid season firing or another goddamn random World Series run

  22. Ok_Ask_1139

You got Chapman calling out people then shitting the bed himself so yeah it’s gonna be rough in there

  23. IMissM0dernBaseball

As a college baseball fan I was bummed the Orioles weren’t the ones to hire him. But now it feels like a dodged bullet already

  24. First college manager in the pros is off to a predictably chaotic start

  25. Up_All_Right

Dude needs to learn the subtle art of euphemizing.

    (Yes, I’m doing it now…)

  26. SpiderCam27

I sense a firing soon. I think he’ll be lucky to even make it to the trade deadline.

  27. Ok_Card9080

That’s………gotta be encouraging. Certainly a positive atmoshpere.

  28. what-i-almost-was

I called this guy being a train wreck the moment he was announced. People wanted to act like it was a good hire but it’s worse than I could have even imagined.

  29. seashellsandemails

    Chapman rn…

  30. msivoryishort

Does that include Chapman yelling at his first baseman

  31. aloofman75

Starting to think Posey might not have made a sneaky-good bet on this guy.
