It’s bound to be the first to happen sooner or later. Inter league play where everyone plays every team has only been going on for a couple years. Before then inter league play didn’t begin until the summer of memory serves me correctly.

NL does seem stronger though

Last year the AL finished +14 over the NL, so far early this season it’s +18 in favor of the NL. AL is mostly getting its ass kicked.
