NEW YORK – Le joueur de deuxième but des Yankees Jazz Chisholm Jr. a été exclu de l’alignement partant contre l’Athlétisme jeudi après-midi en faveur d’Amed Rosario.
Chisholm doit s’améliorer dans la surface des frappeurs. Après avoir couru au septième et s’être envolé vers le centre lors de la neuvième manche de la défaite 1-0 des Yankees jeudi, il a une ligne oblique de .186/.255/.256 sans circuit et trois points produits en 12 matchs.
Interrogé au sujet de son lent départ, Chisholm a souligné que les médias l’avaient approché l’année dernière à travers 12 matchs, alors qu’il avait une ligne oblique de .180/.255/.460.
« Comment étaient mes chiffres à la fin de la saison ? » » demanda Chisholm.
Parmi les joueurs des Yankees, Chisholm a terminé troisième dans WAR selon Baseball Reference (4,2) avec un sommet en carrière de 31 circuits et 80 points produits.
Chisholm pense que lorsque le temps se réchauffera, sa chauve-souris commencera à exploser. Il a reconnu que jouer par temps froid était difficile. Les températures de jeu lors des deux derniers matchs qu’il a commencés étaient dans les années 40. Au cours des six matchs à domicile, la température n’a jamais atteint 60 degrés.

« Je n’utilise pas ça comme excuse. J’ai dit la même chose l’année dernière. Dès que le temps se réchauffe, je me réchauffe. C’est comme ça. Je ne peux pas expliquer pourquoi. Ce n’est pas comme si je n’essayais pas. J’essaie vraiment. … C’est difficile de fonctionner quand on ne sent pas la batte. »
Chisholm devrait être de retour dans l’alignement vendredi, lorsque les Yankees affronteront les Rays au Tropicana Field. Il ne fait aucun doute que Chisholm sera dans un climat plus chaud.
« Nous verrons comment je me débrouille dans cette série, puis vous poserez des questions à ce sujet », a déclaré Chisholm. « Nous en sommes à 11 matchs et nous sommes dans le match 12. … Interrogez-moi dans un mois et demi. Si je n’ai toujours pas de circuit après 40 matchs, (alors venez me voir). »

I don’t follow the Yankees very much but whenever I hear about Jazz it’s usually after he did something really boneheaded and is either complaining or giving excuses. Am I the only one who feels this way?

A good set of thermal underwear can go a long way. Jazz is rich enough he should be able to buy the best of the best, with small heating elements in it. I regularly ride my motorcycle in sub 0 weather with my set on.

I mean Lindor starts slow for us every year. That’s just what he does.
But when he’s on man is he on. Not to mention the gold glove caliber defense at shortstop. I know he’s had a few lapses but he’d never have a runner reach base bc he was lackadaisical about making a play.
All to say you gotta earn making comments like this. Lindor is on a hall of fame track and tbh even I wouldn’t love him making comments like this without an additional “weather or no weather I have to be better”. So where does that leave Jazz

I’ve often wondered about this for guys that grew up playing in warm climates and then play for teams in cold weather climates. I’m not going to shit on him. Obviously needs to work to overcome that but I think it can be a legit factor as well
