It’s unbelievable how much you don’t know about the game you’ve been playing all your life.

It’s astonishing how many guys get to the pros off pure skill and nothing else. Dude has BBL meat in between his ears. I don’t know this dude continues to make incredibly simple mental errors and expect to get paid this year. He’s gonna get one year to prove it deals from here on out cause he doesn’t seem to like accountability.

What’s shocking is that the first people to mention the rules to him were reporters in the locker room, and not, say, coaches or players directly after it happened.
NoSxKats
Can someone link the play he’s referring to?

I love Jazz, I really do. But he has not arrived for the 2026 MLB season yet. I have no idea what is going on with him, but he visually seems to have his head anywhere other than the game at all times. It’s April 11th, plenty of time to get your shit together, but performance so far has been unacceptable. This is a veteran, All-Star level player in a contract year, ffs. Yet he seems disinterested.

Folks, it’s fine. Homer Simpson doesn’t know how a nuclear power plant works.

This is the wanna be 50-50, 350 million player you don’t want on your team.

Trent Grisham had to teach him the rules mid interview. If this team had a real manager he’d be out of the lineup tomorrow.

> Circled back with Jazz to ask him if he thought he had a chance to tag Yandy if he fielded the ball cleanly. > > « The only play at that point, you can’t get Chandler at home. The best thing I was going to do is try to swing at (Yandy) and hopefully he backed out of the line and they call him out of the baseline and throw it to first base and get that double play. That was the best chance we had. If I didn’t get the tag or the out of the baseline, it would’ve been the same result. I don’t know if he was close. I don’t know. You guys would have to tell me because I didn’t get to really look up. The ball was on the ground. »

Jazz when in a funk is a confounding infuriating (and hilarious for neutrals) tire fire. Jazz when he gets on a hot streak though makes you immediately change your opinion on him and then go insane when he repeats his funk. The Jazz Cycle^tm never disappoints!

Chat. Is it good when the player doesn’t know the rules?

Steinbrenner would’ve had this guy traded just for asking that

As a new fan can someone clarify for me,
If someone scores from third with one out, and the defensive still completes the double play, the RBI is negated right?
But in a walk off scenario and you tag home before the double play is completed then it’s fine?
Is that what Trent is saying

Glad he finally got the confidence to ask about the rules of baseball, he’s growing up!
Traditional_Rate7302
Growing up one of the number one things that i got told constantly was to always know what you’re doing when the ball is hit. The fact that something so fundamental can be lost on a professional player is extremely frustrating and it feels like jazz is on a mission to make himself the most disliked player in the mlb

Can’t win with smug assholes like this on your team!! All the talent in the world but talent is only part of the equation

This is objectively hilarious

Sounds like what he needs is a veteran leader in the clubhouse to show him the way.
Nervous-Idea5451
I clicked on thus thinking it’d be like some NFL head coach sarcastically asking that to make the reporter look stupid. No, he is fr inquiring about a somewhat basic rule that even I (never played baseball) know!
SensitiveArtist69
I know I’m supposed to jump on the hate train here but I kinda like him not taking the dumb ass sports reporters very seriously. Saying the precisely right thing here would still get brain surgeon New Yorkers calling for him to be off the team, why play the media game at all?

How the hell does he not know the double play rule? He’s a friggin infielder.

So there’s no doubt that Miguel Rojas was never all those bad things Jazz said. Just to be clear.
