I thought the Mets had long ago turned their fans to atheists, or at least made them convinced God was uncaring at best and actively hostile at worst.
Their problem was having faith in the first place 😝

Nah they definitely already lost faith. Any team would start losing faith at 12 consecutive losses. Juan Soto is a good asset to have back, but this was going on with him in the lineup.
Maybe moving to early morning games will help.

I’ve been a Mets fan for as long as I’ve been able to comprehend baseball and I don’t think I’ve ever truly had faith in them? 2006 was the first time I saw them succeed and they followed that up with the collapse of all collapses so since then I just kind of let seasons unfold with zero expectations. I’ve learned not to put much stock in what « experts » and analysts say about off-season moves because frankly this team could swap rosters and coaching staffs and just the entire organizational personnel with the Dodgers and they’d still manage to set records for futility.
