And then immediately strikes out on another edgy strike and a foul tip lol

The Mets are awful from the top down.
It’s not his fault. He was under the impression he would never be thrown a strike as he’s the only offensive threat in the lineup.
Respect to the Mets booth for keeping it real
« You can’t be out of challenges in a game where you’re down 3-0 in the 6th inning. »
« No, you can be! »
« No, I mean, you can’t be! »
I really wanted them to just continue like that for the rest of the AB.
On the plus side, when the Mets trade him to the Dodgers in two months I can go find a new hobby for the next ten years?
Kinda wild the Mets went from the most energetic team in baseball two years ago to a team that look like they would rather eat nails than hang out with each other after games
It’s been so surprising to me how gung ho players have been about challenges so far. I would’ve thought for sure teams would be telling them they can’t be using them on things like low leverage ABs and 0-0 counts.
on the broadcast Gary Cohen continued after Ron saying « you can be » to say that it makes no sense to challenge balls and strikes in non-high leverage situations, especially when you’re losing
Like my kid when I tell him he needs to read for 30 minutes before he plays Fortnite.
Soto misreading a strike/ball call is nothing short of miraculous.
Wasn’t *that* funny of a reaction.
I’d be telling most of my batters. “Unless there is a guy in scoring position and it’s the third strike, you are not challenging.”
