David Hamilton who the front office traded away???

I like Cora for the most part and I don’t really blame him for the players terrible starts. But I absolutely hated Story in the two-hole from the first game he was in there. It was very much a « I respect the seasoned veteran » move and nothing more. Cora’s L/R insistence can be too stubborn – Story doesn’t even hit lefties better than righties in recent seasons.

That being said, it’s not Cora’s (or Story’s) fault that Crochet, Suarez, and Bello have been such colossal disappointments to start the season. Team is supposed to have an elite rotation and the guys they give big money to have been dogshit.

David Hamilton is the player they’re worried about? Not Kyle Harrison?

  6. They must have hated the lineups he was putting out there. As they should. People were theorizing he was trying to stick it to them. Yeah you can fuck off for that lmao.

Do they have better hitters than Trevor Story available, though?

Like in the thread yesterday, everyone was like « Shut up, Trevor Story. Hit better before you complain about the org » but like, who is hitting better than him and is also a veteran of the league? You’re not going to have Roman Anthony or Marcelo Mayer call out the FO the way they need to be called out.

Also isn’t David Hamilton doing better after he left the org more of an issue with the org/player dev?

i think the problems with the sox go far deeper than cora but i genuinely couldn’t believe some of the lineup configurations i was seeing for the sox literally just looked randomized.

This is just bullshit at this point. Im not defending the front office but there really doesn’t need to be this much justification. The team has been underperforming since 2018

  10. Red Sox FO: “Here’s your roster built around the veteran, Story”

Also Red Sox FO: “We fired him because he built his lineup around the veteran, Story”

    What a clown show.

Everyone thinks the downfall of the Sox was when they traded Mookie away… but it was really when they lost David Hamilton.

    >[Trevor Story](https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/1945488/trevor-story/), [Wilyer Abreu](https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/28838043/wilyer-abreu/) and Carlos Narváez, among others, broke down in tears. The news hit hard on Saturday night at the Red Sox’s team hotel in Baltimore.

I admire the camaraderie, but I can’t imagine crying over my boss (or team lead?) getting fired lmao. The differences between professional sports and an average corporate adult life are so funny sometimes.

I think anyone could have predicted that Story’s 2025 production was not sustainable and having him in the 2 hole was a red flag from Opening Day

  15. IamSpace_Ghost

God, I just love when a dogshit messy team isn’t mine lmao

David Hamilton is a replacement level player. How he’s doing for another team shouldn’t be the basis for whether or not to fire a manager over.

Does it perhaps look a bit bad on Cora’s side that Hamilton’s doing better elsewhere? I dunno, maybe. The point is that it doesn’t really matter that much, and definitely not so much as to be one of the main reasons to fire Cora over. This is hyperfixation by the GM/FO/Henry.

  17. Broke_Banker01

This reads as the BOS FO being petty AF over Story publicly questioning them

Henry has a weird fetish for these analytics nerds to run the clubs roster decisions. Same thing at Liverpool, the guys making the transfer decisions made the club go from champions to struggling for a champions league place not even a full season later. Not a Cora fan but this is all on Breslow
