but it also makes sense to me he was toughin it out while we had…5? starting pitchers on the IL. Hope he comes back sometime this year and leaves a better stamp on his career

Not surprising. He’s better as a coach/mentor now then pitching. At least he had that legendary mad max moment last year with John Schneider in the playoffs. That was awesome.
If you’re keeping track, that is our 1, 2, 4, and 5-hole hitters, 6 starting pitchers (more if you count minor league depth), and 1 high-leverage reliever on the IL. Our 6 hitter also missed time
