We always complained about Cease falling apart in the 5th inning, but I don’t think I’ve seen that before. It would track with the Jays’ luck so far if the guy known for being an iron man managed to injure himself in April.

The Sox also wouldn’t have scored here had Cease not tried to pick off Duran at 2nd, which advanced him to 3rd on the throwing error.

Our season so far summed up in one short clip. Actually, I guess that wouldn’t technically be true if we didn’t also have a star player land on the IL.
Has a pitcher ever rolled like Willy Wonka and made the out at first? Cease looked like he came close here and the bigger issue then would have been nobody covering 1st. That would make 2 all-time feats that almost happened for the first time tonight.
