Dombrowski has always talked with Alex 30-40 minutes every spring. Cora wants to spend time with family and he has young twins with his finance and they are getting married in November.

Not surprised. He talked about how he wasn’t going to manage forever and how that might’ve been his last contract depending on how he feels about a year ago. He has 2 sons less than 10 years old, and a daughter who graduated college last year, and he’s getting married in November.

Dude just wants to enjoy life while still getting paid 14 million by the Red Sox, can’t blame him

Has someone ever managed two different MLB teams in the same season?

  9. scottborasismyagent

I won’t blame him. why make 14-16M to work when u can make that same money to be at home with ur fam ?

  10. Cora is a cheater and shouldn’t even be involved in the game

Why would Cora, who is getting paid this year regardless take a job?

Every job available or that will be available is a team in disaster. All those jobs will still be available come November in addition to a few other jobs where he can be more selective

Truly do not get the « old boys club » because how do you see his reaction after being let go and say « I need me some of that »

  14. Appropriate_Formal64

I fucking knew that would happen. Disappointing. I mean, really, Philly?

Cora is probably still actively drunk from Sunday

At least let him sober up a little before you offer him a huge gig like this.

Phillies GM:.. should I hire the guy who just got fired, or my Dad…

  17. Rob Thompson was not the problem, we must get rid of Stott, Bohm, Sosa, and the entire bullpen. Start fresh with the talent that already exists on the team. This is on Dombrowski

  18. InformalInsurance455

Dombrowski didn’t offer him more than what he’s currently being paid

To me, this kinda sounds like they offered him the job before there was even an official opening.
