53 years Christ alive. Basically a lifetime of baseball

Judging from the graph, all-time managerial losses might be the even more unbreakable record.

7,679 baseball games in a managerial career. It won’t ever be beat bc who would want to work that long lol

Can’t wait to see the first 19 year old MLB manager. Pretty much the only way you will see this record broken. They would also have to win enough to continue managing a team, or multiple teams, through their career and never have a season start bad enough to be fired in April

It is very baseball for the winningest manager in its history to also have a losing record.

Connie Mack owned the team and there’s now a rule against being both the owner and the manager

Not too many managers also own the team these days.

Wild to see that 4 of the top 20 have losing records.

  9. Connie Mack also was never ejected from a game as a manager.

McCarthy’s record can be broken by someone managing a team like Dodgers for a shorter period. I mean Dave Roberts is at .621 right now.

So how’d McGraw do 36 years between 1899 and 1932?

I have a hard time with records from like 1900s early century. Like the competition was completely different
