For WHAT? Nowhere on the bat and an unqualified pitcher.

I’d bump Nico over Corbin right now. He’s in his annual May slump.

Holy fucking ohtani glaze. Mickey Moniak frankly deserves to be higher than him right now

Hey it’s that guy that’s not even a top 100 player!

  5. If we’re just gonna give it to Ohtani every year because he’s a two way player (doing great pitching but just okay hitting this year) then just give it to him every year til he retires and don’t have the award at all til then. *rolls eyes*. I’d argue a decent amount of players have been more ‘valuable’ to their team than Ohtani so far this year.

  6. Yeah, until someone else figures out how to both hit and pitch, it’s going to be tough sledding for NL MVP.

ohtani is currently 2nd in fWAR, this is not a controversial ranking

Why is there a poll? Ohtani has already been awarded the MVP for each remaining year of his contract.

  9. Brice Turang has a 169 wRC+ and is actually (slighly) *under*performing his statcast metrics. People are really sleeping on what a good season he’s having.

MVP polls in early May are completely worthless.

I think Nico should be number one because he’s number one in my heart ❤️

Why is Carroll on here? Give my man Turang his dues

I think we should be talking about arraez as a serious candidate considering how valuable his defense is

Nico / Corbin above Jordan Walker is fucking hilarious

Much love to see Nico on the list. He’s been playing out of his mind this year. Usually you see guys just getting the bag pressing to prove it, but not Nico.

  16. People seem to think that just because Ohtani is slumping on the hitting side that means he’s washed.

How about we changed our thinking a little and instead of thinking of him as a slumping hitting, think of him as a CY Young contender with 800+ ops?
