If fiddling with fucking formulas is wrong, I don’t wanna be right

  3. ContinuumGuy

Okay, so when Alonso next hits a home run, everybody needs to say he just fiddled some fucking formulas.

  4. Pete’s going to have to have a great 30s to pay that off.

  5. Why do we have articles about this every week. Ik we’re ass but Jesus Christ

  6. GunfighterHefty

I call bullshit. That’s the kind of thing you think of when staring into the fridge. « Ooh, that’s what I should have said! »

I’ve hated Pete Alonso passionately for years and his chud ego is a big part of that, but credit where credit is due here. Well done, turdass.

  8. Wait, so he said this before continuing to work for them for a season?

Pete Alonso is 31 and has accumulated 24 career WAR.

If he maintains the exact same production in the next 8 years as he did in the first 8 years of his career, he’ll amass 48 career WAR.

Nobody’s going to be debating Pete seriously as a hall of famer except to say “he’s not one”

I say this as someone who loves Pete and despaired at him leaving, but that’s a wild thing to say and it kinda flips my perception of the situation: clearly he was already over it and had no intention of staying after 2025. If you basically tell your boss to go fuck themselves immediately after signing a 30m contract with them, you can’t expect them to want to bring you back after.

When people say that although polar bears may look adorable, they are actually savage killers this is what they are talking about

  12. already_blue_it

Well he’s elite. The Mets should have paid him

If I were Stearns, I’d be like, “How’d that line go over with the 29 other teams that also didn’t offer you a hall-worthy contract?”

Of course, Pete did back it up last year, but it’s not hard to imagine it going the other way with a lot of other players

  14. Pete “David ‘Take that for Data’ Fizdale” Alonso

  15. KingGizzLizzWizzz

That’s my fucking first baseman, love this dude so much

Alpha shit, sure, but my man, you probably won’t get a single HoF vote.

  17. Dubulous6

Good thing he signed with the Orioles, a team that is definitely not beholden to “fucking formulas”

I just became a Pete Alonso fan lol

  19. Certainly he has a shot, at least of being on the ballot for a while.
