But…They are the #1 Wild Card team right now. What is this?
Edit: Could be a hack just spitting out random stories – also noting Athletics interested in Kris Bubic who is on IL with arm fatigue.

May has quietly been very steady this season though, eating a lot of innings. Weird that the Cardinals are trying to shop him this early when they’re still very much in the playoff race.
Am I missing something? Do the Cards have a ton of pitching prospects they wanna give some innings this season?

They’re in the hunt for the wild card. Why sell? If they’re planning to compete next year, who else do they have to slot into the starting rotation next year?

I would expect they shop O’Brien as well.

Trade JoJo Ro to Toronto for their top SS prospect JoJo Parker

They’re rebuilding. Staying the course is the smart organizational decision, even if they are holding on to WC1

Least at least wait until the ASB. If we are less than 8 games over .500 then trade some guys, if we keep winning, we gotta let it ride until the winning stops

Craig Breslow you know what to do.

Phils will take JoJo back, the trade of him for Sosa was a good win-win trade

It’s interesting to think about how this season parallels Chaims first full season with Boston in 21. Overachieving. He didn’t trade off the rentals in 21. Maybe he’s learning his lesson. That being said it’s two totally different markets. There’s a chance Chaim wasn’t even allowed to sell with Boston doing well in 21.
