Never realized how insane the AL East was for its 1st baseman. You could make an argument that all of them are in the top 10 at their position.

Rice definitely taking a WAR hit because he DHs a lot since the spot is open with Judge/Stanton down, plus Goldy is just better defensively. Undersells how god damn good he is this season.

Wild seeing Kurtz at the top of AL West with 3.0 – guy was pretty solid this year but didn’t expect him to lead the division. Also kinda surprised Freeman and Busch are tied at 1.9, feels like Freeman had the flashier season but WAR doesn’t lie I guess. Poor Pasquantino with that -0.1, injuries really killed what could’ve been a decent year for him. NL Central looking pretty competitive at first base compared to some of the other divisions

The A’s are not a great team. But Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers are as decent a 1-2 punch as any in MLB. Kurtz just casually leads MLB in OBP, has more walks than Mike Trout (well, more than everyone), along with more HR, RBI and stolen bases (nobody saw that coming) than Shohei Ohtani.
Big fella.

Remember when Ildemaro Vargas was the NL Player of the Month in April?
He’s hit .168/.214/.214 (.428 OPS/13 wRC+) in 140 PA since May 2.

It’s so awesome seeing the Red Sox or some Red Sox players lead in particular WAR stats. It’s like « oh wow all of that selective individual success and you still can barely win a game at home. »

Bauers at 1.4 despite having to share time at first is pretty sweet

The Giants went out of their way to take on the $225 left on Devers contract.
