Wrong link. Either way I think this is the right thing to do. You gotta keep your players. Issue with the Angels is Arte cheaps out in FA, hires guys like Suzuki, and doesn’t believe in a bullpen.
It’s funny cause keeping Detmers and Soriano, 2 young starting pitchers who are exactly the type of guys you build your starting rotation with should’ve been done by the Angels 8 years ago for Mike Trout.
The time they realized to do so, and Trout is already inching closer to retirement
I can at least see the argument to do it in the off-season.
Got to at least move their 7 upcoming free agents this deadline though: Soler, Stephenson, d’Arnaud, Yates, Moncada, Frazier and Suter.
Easy to say a month out from the deadline. Also I don’t think Adell would have much of a market anyway. He’s barely 4th OF quality.

Moreno clearly isn’t interested in putting the best possible team on the field that he can, and I feel like that should be a problem for big MLB.

I mean they definitely should be getting one to two year FA guys off the books first before anyone mentioned in this headline, but idk if they are retaining all these guys. These three are all in the area of you gotta be trying to extend them or you trade em the sooner the better

They wouldnt develop any of those return prospects anyways. It is dumb that they dont sell but it has to be a major league ready blue chip back which is just not likely. Great players but they arent getting Arias or Jesus Made back.
I’m not sure how this is surprising to anyone at this point. We know Arte doesn’t rebuild and therefore these dudes aren’t getting traded.
