I’m old enough to have a bit of « Live » memory of Willie. Sadly, it was him falling down rounding second in the 1973 World Series. I was 9 at the time. Old enough to understand, [per this poignant New York Times column](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/18/us/willie-mays-death-baseball-legacy.html), what all that meant.
