Hit .219 with .699 ops in triple-A this season. Awesome start, but won’t last.

  2. KyleRen426

He’s on pace for 55 home runs if he keeps this up for the rest of the season. Looks like another Kevin Maas

  3. EggChasingEnthusiast

He’s nobody. Go away. We don’t have anything else, don’t take him away from us.

  4. Slinky_Malingki

Honestly probably gonna be a linsanity run and he’ll regress into obscurity.

  5. Pinellas_swngr

He’s either Jay Bruce or Aristides Aquino.

  6. Ok-Walk-8040

He was a former second round pick with a lot of talent that hasn’t quite come together until this past week. His AAA numbers have been poor but had a good season last year in AA. Hopefully he turned the corner and will continue to live up to his potential

A huge surprise for sure but also, we’ve seen something like this before. Would be great if he actually did develop into an everyday guy, but cautiously pessimistic is the vibe for me.

Don’t worry I’ll take him for an RBI and end all of that quickly

  9. REDDIT_ROC0408

Dude is terrible. Can’t hit singles.

Please give us a solid 93+ Hinds card in diamond dynasty🙏

No one. He’s nobody. Just leave us alone. Elly sucks at baseball too!

The difference between Hines and Aquino is their swings. Aquino (and Bruce for that matter) had a long, loopy swing. Hindes, on the other hand, has a short, quick swing. He’s gonna be less susceptible to long slumps and he’s going to be able to wait on fastballs a like longer and still hit them with authority. As for curveballs, he’s been hitting those as well. Pitchers will certainly find some weaknesses. Best pitch against him will be change ups and splitters, but all good hitters struggle against pitchers with great stuff. So yes, Hindes will come back to earth. But his swing and power are undeniable. And his glove and arm are decent too. So barring injuries, Hindes will be a starting right fielder for the Reds for a long time.

So weird all these comments hating og a young guy having a moment when virtually none of it is in the Paul Skenes posts. Obviously he will fall back to earth at some point but why not just enjoy the story so far?

Also, he is obliterating slurves and sweepers so probably not the “wait until he sees real MLB off speed” take.

    he has a .600 babip…

when you adjust to what the norm should be, that translates to a .210 BA!

A kid who’s been in the reds minor league system for 5 years

He should move slightly southwest. Won’t even leave the division.
