Trey Yesavage performed exceptionally on the biggest stage in the World Series. Now Mclean has the opportunity to match him and show that him being ranked above Yesavage is justified.
The best pitcher on the USA roster is starting the finals why are people surprised that these guys named “Skenes” or “Skubal” aren’t getting the nod for it
Other important info from the article:
1) Joe Ryan is hoping to be available for that final game but only as an “emergency option” per DeRosa.
2) Matt Strahm, Tyler Rogers and Will Vest are close to guaranteed to join the roster for the knockouts. I would imagine they replace Skubal, Yarbrough and some of the piggybackers (Wacha, Holmes, Kershaw).
3) Trevor (edit: oops, Jeff) Hoffman and Tim Hill are also in the DPP, but the article didn’t mention them by name.
Seems like Skubal having to pitch against Great Britain to stay on schedule is affecting the rest of the rotation. If Skubal’s the reason they can’t line up Skenes to pitch the final, it’s really not worth it for Team USA.
Yeah because Pirates is going to win the WS this year by forcing him to not start the WBC final
