Of all the things that can’t happen in a baseball game, this is in the top 5.
Here’s the rule for challenges, if anyone asks why it was denied:
« Managers must hold their hands up immediately after a play to signal to the umpires that they are considering a challenge. Once the manager alerts the umpire to a potential challenge, the umpire will initiate a 15-second timer. The manager must then decide whether to challenge the call on the field before that timer reaches zero. Otherwise, any challenge request would be denied. »
My Sling feed cuts about 20 seconds after the play cause fuck me i guess, but it looks like 15 seconds had passed.

This not being an elimination game keeps it from being one of the worst sports blunders of all time, but I feel like being in the Tokyo Dome for the Emperor of Japan’s first game in 60 years makes up for some of that. Seriously WTF, bases loaded and Ohtani at the plate, WHY are you getting caught out there??
