Bad year to switch away from Italy, Tiago.

  2. InformalInsurance455

There was a micd up a few years back where Eugenio Suarez was like, my grandfather begged me to play for Italy and I was like, maybe when I retire

All the uproar about players switching teams and it’s less than 10 dudes all time. Fake outrage imo

At least some of these make sense. Erasmus literally couldn’t play for South Africa since they didn’t make it to the WBC in 2017 so instead he played for another part of his heritage. Brazil only ever made the tournament this year and one other, so if you want to represent your Brazilian heritage that’s only ever an option this year and in 2013.

Technically Arenado and Stroman represented the same country each time

I deadass thought the motherland fielded a team for a second when I saw kuya

A-Rod technically switched from USA to the Dominican Republic between 2006 and 2009, but he was injured in the pre-tournament exhibition games and never actually played for the DR at the WBC.
