He should pitch quarterfinal and then again in finals on short rest. He showed he can in the World Series
Queen4Jesus
No way, not making it to the finals with the team when it’s just a few more days?

MLB can be so fucking lame
donquixote25
this is so lame
dodgers22fan
Unfortunate, but that’s probably what needs to happen for him to be ready for opening day, which will be 11 days after the Venezuela game, and guessing he will likely have another spring start before then as a final tune-up.
Leather_War6079
They don’t trust him to not suit up for a extra innings close in the finals
Table_Coaster
the contrast between MLB teams nickel and diming the only major international baseball tournament vs other leagues completely halting their seasons to send players to international tournaments is disappointing
DungeonsAndUnions
Free agency contracts really gonna have to specify the WBC huh
strcy
I don’t have high hopes for the Olympics after how messy this tournament has gone in terms of players’ participation
telly69
He’ll be ineligible to pitch in the rest of the tournament anyway if he throws over 50 pitches but this is still so lame. Let him stay with the team. He can workout and throw bullpens in Miami.
jonpictogramjones
Bruhhhh just let him stay
MendelWeisenbachfeld
Wait but everyone told me Yamamoto would tell the Dodgers to pound sand if they asked him to leave the tournament early and that Skubal was especially evil and undedicated to the tournament.
Critical-Custard-803
Dodgers are ruining baseball 😑
ForsakenRacism
This tournament needs to be moved to the winter
panderson1988
Timing wise he wouldn’t be able to start again until after the tournament. He starts on Saturday, final is three days later. That said, he should stay to celebrate with the team, then with Ohtani go back to Arizona.

Why is everyone assuming this is against his will?

Won’t even get to celebrate? That’s so lame
