Good. It should be available on traditional TV. That Netflix deal was a total sando. And not the good sandwich kind!

went to the game last night, there were some japan fans in attendance

Why would Japanese fans be jazzed to watch USA/DR? US fans probably wouldn’t be expected to be jazzed about Puerto Rico/Venezuela, to pick one.

The only reason JP fans haven’t cancelled is to watch Cosmic Princess Kaguya (mostly rewatchers lol)

Sorry, but I do not give a fuck. Why is there so much Japanese baseball glazing in this sub? JFC

    The buried lede:

    > It’s been a tidal wave of negativity towards Netflix last night, which has used its broadcasting rights to rule with an iron fist over how WBC games have been shown in Japan.

    > The exclusivity pushed millions of Japanese baseball fans to buy Netflix, but for those who couldn’t, they had to listen to the game on the radio or find other ways to watch, as Netflix barred bars and other public places from showing Samurai Japan games.

I guess they are mad but wouldn’t you be? Its not that crazy to not want to watch

Makes sense. I do this with streaming platforms all the time after watching something I really wanted to see. No sense in paying for a bunch of them every month.

As they should. Like I’m not signing up to watch Opening Night either so, hopefully this deal is a disaster for both of them.

Well, duh. I hope the exec who signed off on that grand brilliant strategy to tie the tournament, let alone the team’s performance, to sustaining subs gets a rough scolding.

Their team is out why pay for something they don’t need.

The game started at 9 AM on a Monday, Japan time. Not many people could catch it, right?
