Twins apparently really wanted to draft him. Checks out

Say it again. Can’t ever have enough starting pitching

Damn… that’s savage

Felt like an inevitability with him not pitching this Spring.

It still works out.
Looking at the Blue Jays injury list, Yesavage is not injured enough to not pitch, same for Berrios, and Bieber is getting on the mound soon.
In a month or two some of them will be off the list, and then you either have a different pitcher need time off, or you have an excess.
The Blue Jays have 8 very capable starters right now

95% sure this is a phantom IL stint, so they don’t need to option him.

Yesavage will continue to throw to build up and he’s scheduled to pitch March 25th. He entered camp with the issue and was hoping it would go away before the season, thus the slow build up.
Not that this is a phantom thing, but it very well could be a way to manage his IP.

Hopefully it’s a short stint and isn’t a major factor, however you can’t help but wonder if his extreme arm angle will cause shoulder issues. There is a reason that not many other pitchers have a 64 degree arm angle
