C’est en quelque sorte à la fois vraiment fou que cela l’ait aidé et en même temps la chose la moins surprenante au monde que Scherzer ait sauvé sa carrière grâce au piano.

Imagining Max Scherzer busting out some Bill Evans on the piano is a hilarious thought to me for some reason
Makes sense to me. Sometimes you need to stretch before doing strenuous activity, and it’s probably really difficult to stretch hand/finger muscles effectively, not to mention tiny nuances that may exist in the muscles of each person.
If piano playing uniquely stretches his thumb muscles in a way that alleviates the pain, then more power to him. It’s pretty wild though. I wonder if he’s just masking the pain from the underlying issue, leading to more harm long term, or if what he’s doing really is keeping the issue at bay. Either way it’s really cool.
did he ask the doctor if he’d ever play the piano
Man is enough of a psychopath I can see him now banging away at the keys like Jerry Lee Lewis or something
Hey Shin Lim was trying to be a professional pianist when he broke his thumb. So he gave up that life and switched to sleight of hand magician – famously a profession which does not require good hands
