(Point culminant) Zach McKinstry demande un défi ABS sur un retrait au bâton de fin de match de Paul Sewald, n’obtient pas ce qu’il voulait, et les Tigers perdent à la fois leur défi et le match contre les Diamondbacks.

I mean I don’t blame him, you might as well.

Fuck it, why not. Game is over otherwise.

I hope the league starts asking teams to not do this because it’ll get old very quickly

  4. I was waiting on a cliffhanger game ending ABS,

Imagine the scenes if the bases are loaded, down by 1 and the 3-2 pitch is called a strike and the ABS screen shows the tiniest sliver of the ball hitting the strike zone to end the game as the fans cheer crazily

Paul Sewald striking out all three batters for the save in 2026 just like we all expected

Skubal gonna be an insane deadline piece for the Dodgers

Every game about to end on a ABS review lol

They lost this game? They were up 5-0

  9. Lord the WS could end this way. On a ABS challenge. Anti climatic.

  10. NGL when I first read the title and saw « Doesn’t get what he wanted » I thought the ump denied the challenge.

He’s right to do it, but I do think these forced auto challenges to end the game are gonna get old so quick. Again, it’s playing the game correctly, but it’s this weird gross technical interruption of the natural close to a game. Instead of ending with triumph and heartbreak games are going to end with everyone standing around looking at the Jumbotron because why not?

I wanna see this every game. Even if it’s right down the middle, fuck it.

I think if you incorrectly challenge on the last call of the game, you should lose a challenge in the following game. No one wants to watch a frivolous challenge kill the moment.

You should ask for that challenge 100% of the time there is literally no downside

My god dude, two strikes, swing at anything close to the plate.

Gonna be so cool having every big game end on an ABS challenge.

Umps should be able to do an emphatic strikeout call like they do for the Savannah Banana games when this happens.

It’s not like they carry over to the next game. It’s like time outs in football. Use em or lose em.

As ABS goes on, I think it will ironically lead to more strikeouts. As players adapt to the mentality of having a challenge in their back pocket versus protect the plate
